
Former director deneral of Urban Planning for the Generalitat de Catalunya takes the helm of one of the most strategic actions for the country's economic and social development
Pere Solà i Busquets has been named director of the Consorci Urbanístic del Centre Direccional de Cerdanyola del Vallès, the public body that drives Parc de l’Alba, participated equally by the Generalitat de Catalunya (through Incasòl) and the Ajuntament de Cerdanyola. To date, and since 2007, the new director of the Consorci served as director general for Urban Planning in the Departament de Política Territorial i Obres Públiques and later Territori i Sostenibilitat.
He holds a degree in Architecture from the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, specializing in urban planning (1977) and received the National Award for Urban Planning in 1987. During his career, he has worked as the municipal architect for Ripoll (1983-1989), head of the Servei de l’Oficina d’Informació Urbanística at the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya for the region of Girona (1985-1992), urban-planning advisor for the Ajuntament de Sant Feliu de Guíxols (1990-1991), urban-planning delegate for the Ajuntament de Girona (1993-2006) and advisor to the Ajuntament de Girona for the urban integration of conventional and high-speed rail lines (2006-2007).
Solà has extensive experience in planning and carrying out urban development projects: as director general of Urban Planning for the Generalitat, he drafted general planning instruments for various municipalities; as head of urban planning for Girona, he participated in planning and managing the city’s transformation process; previously, he drafted plans for middle-scale residential and industrial development projects for both public and private bodies, as well as publishing a variety of articles and studies.
In joining Parc de l’Alba, Solà takes the helm of one of the most strategic projects for the country’s urban, economic, technological and social development.
